"It was great. I love the facility. It's a brand new Y. The staff were amazing. They helped us through everything, they were very patient. They taught us everything. It was a really comfortable atmosphere and you know, given the different body images that you're dealing with. I don't have any breasts anymore so you know to go to a regular gym and a lot of people would not know how to deal with you know, my arm being swollen. I have lymphodema and just the various range of motion exercises that they probably would be uncomfortable working with us, they were, they embraced it. So it was really nice. It was excellent!"

"The people are helpful. What I love about the Y is that, if you join a gym you have to sort of figure things out on your own, or pay a trainer. But all the trainers are here to help you and you don't need that and even if you're learning something new they're here to help you so that you don't have to keep hiring a trainer each time you're trying something new. So it's, I would recommend the Y, both for CanWell patients and not you know, and families to stay healthy. It's a great program."

"Programs like this encourage patients to think ahead and to, and to live, rather than to spend their lives as cancer patients. I think that's tremendously important, it changes mind set."

"The big learning is just how much patients enjoy coming to programs like this. i mean, A they feel safe b/c they that they're in an environment where people actually understand cancer, the surgeries they've been through, their potential limitations and they really appreciate the focus on survivorship. In other words cancer is something which can be beaten and this place actually, again, gives them hope b/c here they are engaging in alterations to their lifestyle that are going to be maintained throughout the rest of their life."

"I wasn't as happy as I am now. Like I felt sort of down and I wasn't exercising very much. I'd go for walks and things like that but I didn't continue on with any exercise program at all. And then I heard about this program and enrolled in it and was set up with a wonderful program that took into consideration that I had other ailments like osteoarthritis of the knees, so they devised a program for me for working out and it increased as I increased with more strength."

"I don't want this cancer to come back and I know with the proper exercise and it not only makes me feel better physically, but it also helps me mentally and spiritually and every which way. I would recommend it for anybody going through cancer treatment, or even not going through cancer treatment. It's a really good thing to do."
